Hi Scouts and Scout families and friends.
Below is the information for this weekends hike:
Sand Hill/Short Ridge Trail Loop
Description: This hike will be fairly casual and easy with no overly challenging parts. It’s in an open space, so trees are sparse, but you get fairly good views of the surrounding areas.
SKILL LEVEL: Easy to moderate
DATE: Saturday, November 21
TIME: 2PM sharp
LOCATION: Sycamore Park in Danville (5 min from freeway)
ADDRESS: 2101 Holbrook Dr, Danville, CA 94506
MEETING SPOT: Drive all the way to the end of the parking lot (see red line below) and park. We will meet at the very end of the parking lot where the green star is (Trailhead is about 100ft away)
HIKE INFO: we have a choice of a 2 mile or 4 mile loop that is easy-moderate (far easier than the last part of the Tarantula hike)
Who can come? Scouts, families, school mates, siblings, all nature lovers…
Forecast: 62F predicted right now, dropping to about 60F by end of the hike. Dress appropriately.
What to bring: Bring your masks, water, snack, sunscreen, favorite hiking stick.
NOTES: Sycamore Park is a great park with a large green area, lots of spaced out tables, and a large pond. If you want to get there early, you can have a picnic with your family before the hike (after the hike will likely be cold/dark).
COORDINATOR: Vandy (Darius’ father)
